As another lockdown begins, then autism act services need to adapt accordingly. At a time when the new Covid 19 variant is affecting many of our lives, there is uncertainty in what the next day will bring and what you feel you are able to do or access. To bring a reliable service that works for you, there has to be more flexibility in what autism act is offering and how you can access it. There are certain services I have really enjoyed delivering since May 2020 but it has to be about what you want, not what I like!
There are now 2 clear pathways of support for you to access, depending on whether you are supporting in education or as a parent.
These are the pathways now available.
- education autism – supporting your practice (education pathway)
- destination autism – guiding your journey (parent pathway)
education autism is a new way to offer the many education services I have, whereas destination autism has been in place since September 2020. Both have the same information and ethos at the core but present information in different ways to meet your needs and, consequently are designed to support you in different ways. autism act aims to offer a reliable service to those of you supporting an autistic child or young person. I continue to use my 26 years experience in education to write all my own material and invent my own services, whilst promoting the strategies I know work with children, schools and families.
