The luxury of working as an independent consultant and trainer is that I can set my own diary and be creative with the events I want to promote. I have organised some events with others I have met on my autism work journey and have some great things in the pipeline. At the moment they are mainly events open to particular groups of people and this needs to change so I can serve a wider audience. If you are reading this blog (and I hope lots of you are!) and think you would like to organise a similar event, contact me! Remember autism act is advice, consultancy and training. I have my 4 favourite hashtags:
#autismawareness #raisingknowledge #buildingconfidence #feelingempowered
If you want me to deliver autism content and hit this criteria, let’s do it! Let’s just do it!
So, what’s coming up?
Tuesday 3rd March – Commissioned work with Rochford Extended Services (SENCO cluster and autism consultations with staff) You have to be a member of RES to access this and consultation bookings are through them directly.
Wednesday 4th March – delivering a staff meeting at a local school. This is just for the school only and focuses on Understanding and Supporting Emotional Regulation, with an emphasis on the Zones of Regulation . This is available to any school who wants to book it.
Wednesday 11th March – Available to Rochford Extended Services schools only, a whole day training focusing on sensory processing and provision. Sensory processing is one of the 4 key areas of difference as highlighted by the Autism Education Trust so it’s very important that those supporting our autistic youngsters have understanding of this.
Tuesday 10th March or 17th March TBC – autism practitioner support group. This will be held at a local school and is available to Benfleet, Thundersley, Hadleigh and Rayleigh school. DETAILS TO FOLLOW when the date is confirmed. This is the continuation of a very established group I ran in my previous role as a specialist teacher.
Tuesday 24th March – Available to Rochford Extended Services schools only. I will be supporting the Rainbow parent group and delivering to the SEN supporting staff group in the afternoon. Topic yet to be confirmed. This was a really popular event last month and 20 people attended. Spaces can be booked directly through RES.
Saturday 28th March – I am attending the AnnaKennedyOnline autism expo at Brunel University. Details for me to be confirmed but this is an amazing event and tickets are £10 direct from AKO.
Tuesday 31st March – I am delivering autism awareness training to local childminders. This is a closed event and if you are eligible to attend, you will have been contacted. However, if you are part of a group or organisation that would like this type of training, contact me.
Friday 3rd April – autism act and Benfleet Crystals parent event will be hosting a coffee morning to raise money for the National Autistic Society as part of Autism Awareness Week. MORE DETAILS TO FOLLOW. Anyone welcome!
If you are reading this but don’t feel you can access any of these event, please contact to me to see if we can book something that you can attend!
